Actor Divya Dutta who did the voiceover for the current controversial Tanishq commercial stated that she is saddened by the firm’s decision to pull it down after social media backlash by a bit of individuals. The ad featured a Muslim household celebrating a conventional South Indian child bathe for their pregnant daughter-in-regulation from the Hindu group sending throughout a message of communal concord.

After the ad was pulled down, Divya Dutta was responding to a Twitter person who requested if it was her voice in the ad. Responding to the person, Dutta stated, “Yes it’s my voice. Though sad it’s taken off air. I loved it.”

When one other person stated, “nothing against her, but wrong is wrong”, the actress wrote, “But sir don’t we all promote brotherhood ?? We as India are all about that. That’s our soul sir. Unity in diversity bachpan mein sunte the. aise to kitne ads hote the. koi kuch nai kehta tha .. par chalein sabke apne vichar (We used to be told of our unity in diversity during our childhood. to each his own)! “

Tanishq withdrew the ad after a social media backlash with a number of terming it as ‘love jihad’. In an announcement asserting the withdrawal of the ad, Tanishq wrote, “The idea behind the Ekavatam campaign is to celebrate the coming together of people from different walks of life, local communities and families during these challenging times and celebrate the beauty of oneness. This film has stimulated divergent and severe reactions, unlike to its very objective. We are deeply saddened with the inadvertent stirring of emotions and withdraw this film keeping in mind the hurt sentiments and well being of our employees, partners and store staff. ”
